This is 100% Pure African Shea Butter (Butyrospermum Parkii) comes from the Shea nut tree more commonly known as the Karite tree, also known as Galam (Vitellaria paradoxa). A Karite tree can take from 20-30 years to begin to bear fruit or the nuts from which Shea Butter is made. The tree is called the “tree of life”

The chemical composition of shea butter includes a saponifiable fraction composed primarily of stearic and oleic acids, palmitic, linoleic and arachidic acids. It also believed that it has sun screening properties and acts as an emollient and skin moisturizer. Shea butter has is also showed an anti-aging and anti-inflammatory properties.
